Nyitray, Alan

Alan Nyitray, PhD is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. His research has focused on the natural history of anal HPV infection and, most recently, anal cancer screening among sexual and gender minorities. His current research assesses self-swabbing protocols for anal precancer biomarkers and self-screening for symptoms of anal cancer. He has published more the 75 peer-reviewed papers on these topics and is funded by the National Cancer Institute. Prior to his HPV research, he delivered HIV prevention in a service capacity for 15 years.
