Dr Omar GASSAMA is Associate Professor of Gynecology-Obstetrics at Cheikh Anta DIOP University in Dakar (Senegal) and is President of the Senegalese Society of Colposcopy and Papillomavirus Pathology (2SC2P). Dr GASSAMA is a laureate of the Cheikh Anta DIOP Universities of Dakar (Senegal), Paris Descartes (France), Paris XI (France), Lyon Claude Bernard (France), Nimes (France) and holds several diplomas (Colposcopy and Cervico-Vaginal Pathology, Vaginal and Perineal Surgery, Endoscopy in Gynecology, Operative Hysteroscopy and Vaginal and Perineal Reconstructive Medicine and Surgery. He is a former intern at Dakar Hospitals and has contributed to over 100 publications in the field of sexual and reproductive health, especially in cervical cancer prevention (vaccination against human papillomavirus, screening and treatment of pre-cancerous cervical lesions). He is an experienced specialist in colposcopy and cervico-vaginal pathology, and pathologies associated with human papillomavirus (HPV).
Dr. Omar GASSAMA is a member of several learned societies, including the Senegalese Society of Colposcopy and Papillomavirus Pathology related, the Senegalese Association of Gynecoly and Obstetrics, the African Society of Gynecoly and Obstetrics, the International Federation of Gynecoly and Obstetrics, the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS)… Since 2023, he has been a member of the Education Committee of the IPVS.
Pr Omar GASSAMA is co-director of the University Diploma in Colposcopy and Cervico-Vaginal Pathology at Cheickh Anta DIOP University in Dakar, Senegal. He is a practitioner at the Aristide LE DANTEC Teaching Hospital and Director of the Dakar Uterine Cervix Institute, which specializes in the treatment of cervical, vulvar, vaginal and anal diseases, as well as other pathologies linked to the Papillomavirus.
