Taylor Saunders-Wood is a Ph.D. student in the Division of Virology within the Department of Pathology at the University of Cambridge. She is undertaking her post-graduate studies as a member of Jesus College. Ms Saunders-Wood graduated from Lancaster University in 2015 with a first class Honours degree in Biomedicine (MSci). Her undergraduate thesis (with Professor Michael Ginger) detailed the localisation of a novel protein in trypanasoma brucei and her master’s research (carried out in the lab of Professor Christian Hölscher) investigated the neuroprotective effect of an oxyntomodulin analogue as a novel treatment method in Parkinson’s disease. Currently, Ms Saunders-Wood is completing her Ph.D studies under the supervision of Professor John Doorbar at the University of Cambridge. Her work in the Papillomavirus field focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of early lesion formation, using both mouse models and cell culture methods. In 2018 she was elected as Graduate Representative of the International Papillomavirus Society.
