Dr. Sichero is a Research Coordinator at the Center for Translational Research in Oncology, Instituto do Cancer do Estado de Sao Paulo (ICESP), Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil, and a Collaborator Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Sichero collaborates extensively with several international research organizations. She has a broad background in Molecular Virology, with specific training and expertise in molecular biology, molecular epidemiology and biochemistry. She focuses her research in understanding the impact of mucosal and cutaneous HPV genetic variability upon associated diseases development, and upon biological and biochemical properties of infected cells. More recently, she is dedicated to exploring cellular transcription factors involved in HPV regulation that could have a role as prognostic biomarkers or as therapeutic targets for tumors induced by HPV-16.
