Andreia Albuquerque MD PhD is a Gastroenterologist and Associate Professor with a special interest in early detection and anal cancer prevention.
She has more than 80 papers published in peer-review journals, including as first author in The Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Journal of Crohn’s and Colitis, Clinical Infectious Diseases, British Journal of Cancer and the International Journal of Cancer.
She is an Editorial Board member of the journal BMC Gastroenterology and the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology. She is a Board member of the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS), a member of IPVS Education Committee and the Industry subcommittee.
Previously, she served as Chair of the IPVS Social Media Committee and was an active member of the Early Career Research Group. She also organized the first and second edition of the IPVS Human Papillomavirus-Related Anogenital Diseases Course for Clinicians and High-Resolution Anoscopy Workshops.
