Medical Director Athena Women’s Specialist, Singapore and President of Society of Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology Singapore.

Dr. Ida, a UK-accredited obstetrician-gynaecologist, is Medical Director of Athena Women’s Specialist in Singapore. She also is currently serving as the President of Society of Colposcopy & Cervical pathology Singapore (SCCPS).

She previously was colposcopy lead and headed The Gynaecology Cancer Prevention services at National University Hospital, Singapore, pioneering the introduction of HPV DNA testing in Singapore in 2014. She co-chaired Cervical Screen Singapore’s HPV Primary Screening rollout (2019) and now leads its Clinical Guideline Review Group, launching the new 2025 National cervical cancer screening guideline in March 2025 incorporating universal HPV DNA test using self-collection method.

Dr. Ida Has been an active member of IPVS since 2018. She currently also leads the IPVS ECHO Committee and Chair for the Asia Pacific IPVS Country Chapters.

Dr. Ida’s interest in education and training leads her to co-developed The International Gynaecology Cancer Society (IGCS) Preinvasive Disease Certificate Program, with the aim of building local clinical capacity of skilled preinvasive cervical disease practitioners, directly supporting the World Health Organization’s goal of cervical cancer elimination.

In addition, she is also actively involved in research and advocacy for HPV related diseases particularly in the Asia Pacific region, as founding member and secretary for the Asia Pacific HPV Coalition.

Her humanitarian efforts earned her the 2024 IGCS Global Humanitarian Award for impactful cervical cancer prevention work.
